Roswell, in SE New Mexico, is located with easy access to two interstates, and its reasonable prices, low crime rate, natural resources,and many outdoor activities make it an attractive place to live and work.
Known internationally for the "Roswell Incident," Roswell does play host to many tourists interested in UFO's and rumored government coverups of alien visits, but the city offers many other attractions to residents and vistors alike. The Roswell Museum and Art Center boast 11 art galleries, which display works by such painters as Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth, along with Southwestern art, history and technology exhibits. The Roswell Community Little Theatre and the Symphony Orchestra provide other venues for local performers, as well.
Southeastern New Mexico offers tremendous attractions to fishermen, hikers, skiers, campers, and hot air balloonists. Others enjoy events such as the Eastern New Mexico State Fair, the Pecos Valley Roundup, and the Southeast New Mexico Senior Expo. The 162-bed Eastern New Mexico Medical Center provides for redident's health care, and higher education is available both at Eastern New Mexico University and at the New Mexico Military Institute, which provides both college prep and junior college opportunities.
